Love One Another: Walk in His Commandments
5 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. 6 This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
This love is agapeo love--out of the will. No matter how we feel or what we think..it is being requested that we do it. It is not easy to walk in love..especially when we are tired, irratable, depressed, or just too busy. It takes diligence and a decision to do it no matter what. We must carefully examine our attitudes and keep our will lined up with the will of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that today I will walk in love as I have been commanded to do so..with a willing heart, loving out of the Spirit and not out of selfish desires. I pray my eyes stay on Jesus and not on the flaws of those around me. Help me Jesus--I know that your strength is perfected in my weaknesses. I am nothing without you-Forgive me for all the times that I have not walked in love and have mistreated those you have placed in my life to love. I choose right now to obey You and to turn from my old selfish ways. In Jesus' name--Amen

Salt is good for you
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing than to be thrown out and trampled by men.
In a word study I found that this verse means the following:
"Salt"=Prudence
"Loses its Flavor"=to make as a simpleton, to become a fool, make foolish, lose savor
(I found these meanings in the Strongs Interlinear Dictionary on PC Study Bible)
We need to walk with prudence and integrity and be wise in our every step in this world. Many eyes are watching and waiting to see us falter in the ways of the Kingdom. Let's be careful not to act foolishly. Let's watch what we say. Let's be mature. Let's not lose our flavor.
